It is always fun to explore new techniques to make the frame design unique. This abstract landscape print by Jeni Lee uses a wash of colors to create the image. The frame design allows the image to stay strong yet has visual interest. The piece is surrounded by a neutral chocolate mat, then a fillet was selected to give light, then the fun part begins! The colorful mat that mimics the artwork was created using Neocolor II on silk broadcloth. The fabric was painted then hand wrapped on a matboard. When thinking about the design of this piece, I knew the person I needed to call was Jean Wells at the Stitchin Post [ http://www.stitchinpost.com/ ]. Jean always has a great solution when it comes to textiles. To finish off the piece, a shimmer brown mat and then a frame to complement the work. Enjoy!
